ImageScan
Array developed the ImageScan software toolkit to help users analyse the images created from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data. ImageScan supports RADARSAT and ERS signal data in CEOS format.
The RADARSAT Mission Management office at Canadian Space Agency (CSA) uses ImageScan for detailed image analysis and data calibration.
ImageScan contains the following image analysis capabilities:
- Point Target Analysis - This function includes impulse response display and the computation of impulse response measures, such as peak power, integrated power, impulse response width, Peak Sidelobe Ratio (PSLR), Integrated Sidelobe Radio (ISLR), and point target phase.
- Distributed Target Analysis - This function includes the mean and standard deviation of image intensity. Operators can also use this function to calculate the multi-looking estimator, Equivalent Number of Looks (ENL), and the phase statistics.
- Swath Characterization - Users can determine the distances between nadir, near, and far edges across track using the slant range and incidence angle information in the ancillary data.
- Elevation Pattern Determination - Operators can calculate the elevation antenna pattern using the imagery of uniform, distributed targets where no elevation pattern correction has been applied. The images are averaged to enhance their uniformity.
- ScanSAR Analysis - The ScanSAR analysis measures geometric and radiometric variations across subswath boundaries. The Azimuth Ambiguity Ratio (AAR) Analysis measures bright targets on a dark background.
