CANTASS Post Analysis System Support (PASS)
The Canadian Towed Array Sonar System Post Analysis System (CANTASS PAS) R&O Support Contract gives the Canadian Navy on-going support for the PAS systems currently in operation at the Acoustic Data Analysis Centres (ADACs) in Halifax, NS, and Esquimalt, BC. As part of this contract, Array has built a Software Support Environment (SSE) that replicates the performance of the existing systems and provides a target platform for staging new releases. The SSE will also provide a facility for tracking and fixing problems in the field and acts as a source of hot spares for the operational systems.
Array also developed a web-based R&O Support System as part of this contract. This web-based system streamlines the R&O process through a secure Internet Website. The website handles the following tasks:
- Manages the system configurations of all installed systems for the end users.
- Allows the end users, the support personnel (Array) and any authorised personnel to exchange repair requests and responses, support information, and discuss hardware obsolescence issues.
- Monitors the progress of any repaired item anytime and anywhere using an Internet link.
This streamlined, web-based R&O support system ensures the timely exchange of relevant support information, while keeping the turn-around-time for repairs and the system downtime to a minimum.
The Canadian Navy continues to look at ways of improving and upgrading the CANTASS PAS systems. Under this contract, Array will participate in each of these enhancements. The contract included an option to use Array as support for the CANTASS Mission Simulator (CMS).
