GPISAR - General Purpose Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar
Delivered as both a Matlab software package and also as a compiled version (stand-alone application) that runs independent of Matlab
Developed and implemented in GPISAR- four methods of processing non-equally spaced data (pulses in the angular dimension) as a pre-processing module
Array was contracted by the Department of National Defence (DND) to provide upgrades to the GPISAR software tool being used at Defence Research and Development Canada-Ottawa (DRDC-Ottawa).
The GPISAR software package was used for the processing and visualization of data collected from Radar Systems to display Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) images of moving targets of military interest.
Under the contract, Array performed a variety of tasks:
- Enhanced the GPISAR software.
- Introduced new algorithms to improve preprocessing efficiency and accuracy.
- Redesigned the Graphical User Interface (GUI), streamlining navigation for the user.
- Introduced an Image Quality Tool (IQT).
Array successfully completed Phase I and II of this project, enhancing the capabilities of the GPISAR tool and upgrading it with the latest MATLAB version. Shortly after, Array was awarded a contract to complete the Phase III upgrades.
